Interstellar public transport?

That hook was the arm of an interstellar garbage collector! The story is getting weirder with every picture I manage to extract.

Trees... garbage collectors... sleeping spaceships...

I think the real question is: are those real-time saucers?

Can you put these interesting SPAMs somewhere on the web? I guess many people want to see the original file.

While we would on one hand like to publish the whole message, we are also reluctant to do so. First, the message is around 300 megabytes large, so we'd probably have to set up a torrent in order to save our resources. Second, we still don't really know what the message is about. We published the pictures because they looked interesting and harmless, but we have no idea what's contained in the other parts, so if we publish, we have to make sure that we're not distributing anything dangerous or illegal - so we would at least have to come up with some legal text describing what the status of this message is. Third, since we know now how to decode the pictures, we will definitely make some progress and publish more in time. Giving it all away right now would somehow spoil the fun a bit. All in all, publishing more than we do would at the moment take up too much of our time. Perhaps if you ask us again after the contest is over, we might have the time to publish the full message.

With such a massive amount of information, and what with there being aliens and all, I wonder if we're going to need to have Carl Sagan and Jodie Foster on our 'phone a friend list.' :)

I'm looking forward to the contest -- looks like lots of fun in store.
